After Sharpe's Peril last week, this week on PBS Masterpiece Classic (Check your local listings for exact date and time) is Anne Frank. Airing on April 11, Sunday or for some April 10 Saturday. Hosted by Laura Linney. For more information click here http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/annefrank/index.html
or go to the side of this page and click on the picture.
Watch online on the PBS website from April 12 - May 11.
The Plot:

For Jewish teenager Anne Frank (Ellie Kendrick), her diary is her one true friend and confidant. In it, she records the thoughts of a typical teen — only set against a backdrop of encroaching evil in Amsterdam during World War II. Stowed away behind a bookcase in a secret annex with her family and others to flee the Nazis, Anne experiences her time in hiding as an adventure. And, amidst closed quarters and random bomb blasts, Anne faces friction with family, a desire for independence and the first stirrings of young love. As Anne's identity solidifies, so does her resolve to be a writer — her diary a tangible and remarkable record of a young woman's first-hand observations of the Holocaust, and the innate goodness she still sees in people. Drawing on Anne Frank's own words in the most accurate-ever adaptation of the revered memoir, Masterpiece presents The Diary of Anne Frank on Holocaust Remembrance Day, 2010.

The "property" in question turns out to be Marie-Angelique (Beatrice Rosen, 2012), who Sharpe quickly pegs as petulant, spoiled and selfish. The journey, through more than 600 miles of hostile territory, will prove to be riddled with surprises and rebellion and bring Sharpe, his comrade-in-arms Patrick Harper (Daragh O'Malley) and their ragtag troops into a dark conspiracy and one climactic, perilous battle. Sharpe's Peril is based on the characters created by novelist Bernard Cornwell. (One episode; 120 minutes; TV-PG)

The Last Station (2009)

Sadly i really wanted to see this movie but it is rated R. But for me it looks really interesting and it looks like a really great story. Running time is: 112 min. and like i said it is rated R. Byt the way its pretty cool that James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff are in this movie together

The Plot:

A historical drama that illustrates Russian author Leo Tolstoy's struggle to balance fame and wealth with his commitment to a life devoid of material things

(The cast is pretty amazing!)

Bright Star (2009)

This movie really interests me and i really want to see it. It did make it to the academy awards and was nominated but it didn't win. But still being nominated is really a big accomplishment.
Here is the link for the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTetIodauIM
Rating: PG
Length: 119
And the plot:

London 1818: a secret love affair begins between 23 year-old English poet, John Keats (Ben Whishaw), and the girl next door, Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish), an out-spoken student of high fashion. This unlikely pair begin at odds, he thinking her a stylish minx, while she was unimpressed not only by his poetry but also by literature in general

Best Costume

The Young Victoria to home best costume again for the Academy Awards. I think it did well in that area because they really deserved it. For a smaller budget film it is so amazing that they made it the the awards. It amazed me like how Precious made it from Sun dance to theaters.

Congrats!

An Education (2009)

This movie looks so good to me and i really want to see it. It has had 3 oscar nomanations. Here is the trailer:

Here is a short summary:
In the early 1960's, sixteen year old Jenny Mellor lives with her parents in the London suburb of Twickenham. On her father's wishes, everything that Jenny does is in the sole pursuit of being accepted into Oxford, as he wants her to have a better life than he. Jenny is bright, pretty, hard working but also naturally gifted. The only problems her father may perceive in her life is her issue with learning Latin, and her dating a boy named Graham, who is nice but socially awkward. Jenny's life changes after she meets David Goldman, a man over twice her age. David goes out of his way to show Jenny and her family that his interest in her is not improper and that he wants solely to expose her to cultural activities which she enjoys. Jenny quickly gets accustomed to the life to which David and his constant companions, Danny and Helen, have shown her, and Jenny and David's relationship does move into becoming a romantic one. However, Jenny slowly learns more about David, and by association Danny and Helen, and specifically how they make their money. Jenny has to decide if what she learns about them and leading such a life is worth forgoing her plans of higher eduction at Oxford

Pirates

Ok now i am excited. (I'm not the most excited i can be but i still am excited enough to really want to see it!) Pirates of the Caribbean (4) On stranger Tides should be coming out in 2011. (So many movies i am covering are coming out in that year, so many!) The reason i am not as excited as i would have been is because the movie as we loved it will be changing. It no longer will have the two characters the story very much depended on, Will and Elizabeth. But as all things do, they move on and i am sure it will be splendid as the others were. I just hate it when they switch characters on you, and i know that soon the pirate movies with stop soon because good things know when to stop when they are a head. (Although i wonder if they are making a mistake in making this movie because if they were to stop while they are ahead they are surly missing their time to do so. This movie will either put them ahead or behind, i just don't know what it is right now.) Well I'm coming to the good part, Jack Sparrow will be continuing as a character and the wonerful Johnny Depp is to play him for the fourth time. Now I'm coming to the strange part of the details, it is rumored that Penélope Cruz will be acting in the movie. It is not for sure but it likely will happen. And a big new character Captain Blackbeard will join the cast. I don't know much more about that, but from what i know it is a huge difference. (Maybe they should have made the adventures of Jack Sparrow before all the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies.) More info click on this link - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1298650/

For me the most impressive and cool aspect yet is that one of the filming locations will be in Hawaii. I'm not sure what island exactly but one of the smaller more isolated ones i think. That is pretty cool if i might say so myself. (In Hawaii they have had many things filmed, what i can think of is, Indiana Jones (the newest one) Lost, and Hawaii 5 0)
So knowing one location we can sort of imagine what it will look like, its exciting!
I found this article talking a bit more of it. -

"Johnny Depp Hopeful Dark Shadows Movie Will Shoot This Year"

27 February 2010 11:39 PM, PST Reelzchannel.com See recent ReelzChannel news »

This year was already shaping up to be a busy one for actor Johnny Depp, but now it appears that it's going to get even busier. Depp is currently in Venice for the start of principal photography on his new movie, The Tourist, with Angelina Jolie, even as his latest collaboration with director Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland, opens this week.

Depp will follow up The Tourist by reprising the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which is slated to begin shooting this summer in Hawaii. And Depp recently confirmed in a brief statement to ScreenCrave that he expects to star in another Tim Burton movie by the end of the year, a big-screen adaptation of the '60s goth soap opera Dark Shadows. I see it going this year, I hope it does. I do yeah. We'll work like dogs to get there. »

Well i hope this helped at least a little bit in knowing just a little bit more about the up coming film if you haven't heard much about it lately,

Zombies (2011)

Well here it is more details in the new re-make, spoof more likely movie of Pride and Prejudice. Sorry I'm getting out of being neutral for this review, but i don't know how Jane Austen would take this, her beloved novel being turned into a zombie movie to please the crowds. I'm wondering about this. I know a lot of relations and some of her and fans were not happy with the movie Becoming Jane and i just wonder how they are going to take this. I know many won't be disappointed and many are looking forward to it, but again this is my opinion and I'm just wondering how it will be taken because i know a lot of people weren't happy with Becoming Jane. Another of my reasons is that they didn't like these things so much back then and so people are saying she would be very proud of it if she could see what happened to her book. I'm not saying she is or she isn't, I'm just saying really? Why? Why are they doing this? But here it is. . . a love story turned horror!!!! (i can hear the blood scream already!)

Well more to the fact here is more information for the to be movie. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies comes out in 2011 unless it is changed like the possibility of any movie title and production. (don't worry I'm not planing anything to stop it!) But The writers are as we know Jane Austen (the name taken in vain) and the novel writer of Pride Prejudice and Zombies, Seth Grahame-Smith.

The Plot is this: Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationship between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge - - an army of undead Zombies.

I didn't write that plot, i just wanted to make that known. And is it me or is it a bit tangled itself. (i don't see why they need to bring the fad of zombies this season into a classic tale. The sea monster book of Sense and sensibility was a bit strange but not extremely bad, but zombies i really don't understand. ) Anyways -

So far as i know the only actress to play a part is Natalie Portman who will play Elizabeth Bennet. Humm. . . That is something i thought i would never see. I really don't know what to think.

But if you are interested (their so far now isn't much other information on the website that i haven't already talked about ) here is the link you can follow to read more. (if their is more) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1374989/
