Emma 09

Sorry it took me a while to write this post but finally i got myself to do it. I watched Emma the 2009 version last month. I saw it on youtube because i just couldn't wait for next year, i am inpatient. One of my flaws, its just one because i do have many. Well all i have to say to describe it (based on my easy going opinion of things where i try to like everything, i say try because not always do i like things) continuing- is "Oh i LOVED it!!!" I thought that i would never love this new version the way i loved the classic older one, but i was wrong i loved everything about it. I think Emma was portrayed a little different from how Paltrow portrayed her, but still she was Emma and i loved her and i now i really like Romola Garia, i see her in a new way in acting. I also was wrong about how i couldn't see Johnny Lee Miler as Mr. Knightley, but i loved him in this version. I loved all the characters and i loved the location of the film and everything about it. You have to see it when you can.
Well this is just my opinion of the movie and if you have yours i would love to hear it.
You can wait to watch it on the t.v or on d.v.d but if you can't and have time it is 4 hours and spit into 4 whole episodes.
This is part one of episode 1- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFejgx-Rt_w
Part one of episode 2- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_s_zeIHMQuw
Part one of episode 3- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGA5EtoNbgE
and part one of episode 4- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHjabiH6N-4

And here are some pictures of the movie that i liked~

Shakespeare~

I really like this sonnet because he is saying that he is not like that poet that praises with proud words of a lady just because she is pretty, but since he is really in love he will write with truth. She pretty, but he will not write proudly to sell his poem.

Sonnet 21
So is it not with me as with that muse,
Stirred by a painted beauty to his verse,
Who heav'n itself for ornament doth use,
And every fair with his fair doth rehearse—
Making a couplement of proud compare
With sun and moon, with earth and sea’s rich gems,
With April’s first-born flow'rs, and all things rare
That heaven’s air in this huge rondure hems.
O let me, true in love but truly write,
And then believe me: my love is as fair
As any mother’s child, though not so bright
As those gold candles fixed in heaven’s air.
  Let them say more that like of hearsay well;
  I will not praise that purpose not to sell.

Alice (2009)

Alice played on SyFy as a two episode mini series. I hadn't been waiting to see it for very long but for a little while and i really enjoyed it. It was completely different to what the book is or the original story is. It took place in a modern Wonderland and a modern real world, where Wonderland looks completely different after thousands of years after Alice visited.
I think it really made me want to see the Alice in Wonderland coming out next year.

The Cast was also great:
Caterina Scorsone.... Alice (2 episodes, 2009)
Andrew Lee Potts ..... Hatter (2 episodes, 2009)
Philip Winchester... Jack Chase (2 episodes, 2009)
Tim Curry...Dodo (2 episodes, 2009)
Harry Dean Stanton...Caterpillar (2 episodes, 2009)
Timothy Webber...Carpenter (2 episodes, 2009)
Zak Santiago...10 of Clubs (2 episodes, 2009)
Charlotte Sullivan...Duchess (2 episodes, 2009)
Colm Meaney...King of Hearts (2 episodes, 2009)
Kathy Bates...Queen of Hearts (2 episodes, 2009)
Alan Gray...White Rabbit (2 episodes, 2009)

P&P another movie

This is just a short post but it is a very shocking piece of news. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies after being turned into a book, idea for a comic book line, now will be turned into a movie. Their is not much on it, but it is said for the time being to be released in 2011. Nothing else am i aware of, but it is such a shock. I didn't see it coming.

What would Jane Austen Say?????
I might be able to guess but i am not 100% sure. All we know is what we want to think some say it is good and others bad. But is it just me, zombies and vampires are a big thing lately. Their are so many shows, movies, and books. Theirs no denying that it is in.

Wuthering Heights

Well now i am very surprised and amazed. To be truthful i am not the biggest Bronte fan but i loved the 2009 version of Wuthering Heights, and because of it i understand the characters better. But i am just amazed, Wuthering Heights is to be made into another movie in 2010. Their is the 1998 version and the newer 2009 version with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley. I am just surprised that they are making another one so fast and so close to the 2009 version.

The Plot:

A poor young English boy named Heathcliff is taken in by the wealthy Earnshaw family where he develops an intense relationship with his young foster sister, Cathy. Based on the classic novel by Emily Bronte

And the made up cast:

Ed Westwick

who will play...

Heathcliff

and

Gemma arterton

...

Catherine Earnshaw

"Tess of the D'Urbervilles"

What Do you Think of This?

I found this quote and i would like to hear your opinion on it. Here it is..

"The voice of the people has been said to be the voice of God; and, however generally this maxim has been quoted and believed, it is not true to fact. The people are turbulent and changing, they seldom judge or determine right. "Alexander Hamilton (1755-1804)

The eldest sibling Anne is a budding young actress who is in love with Foreign Office official Lawrence, but her seemingly perfect life begins to dramatically unravel when she stumbles across secret recordings of the anti-appeasement movement. While trying to discover the origin of these recordings, dark secrets are revealed which lead to the death of a great friend. As war breaks out Anne discovers the truth and flees to London to try to confirm her suspicions, but things don't work out as she had planed and is set into more trouble.

A short Q.

I read this very inspiring quote. I thought it was very interestingly worded and i thought it is uplifting in a way. I just wanted to share it with you all in this short post.

"Forty is the old age of youth; fifty the youth of old age. "
Victor Hugo (1802-1885)

I am very sorry for not posting as much as i should, but i have been busy with ideas for my other blog. But i aim to write more on this site.

Thanks~

Shakespeare~~

I really like this sonnet, i thought it both pretty and very well versed.

Sonnet 20

Original Text

A woman’s face, with nature’s own hand painted,

Hast thou, the master-mistress of my passion;

A woman’s gentle heart, but not acquainted

With shifting change, as is false women’s fashion;

An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,

Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;

A man in hue, all hues in his controlling,

Which steals men’s eyes and women’s souls amazeth.

And for a woman wert thou first created,

Till nature as she wrought thee fell a-doting,

And by addition me of thee defeated,

By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.

But since she pricked thee   out for women’s pleasure,

Mine be thy love, and thy   love’s use their treasure.

Cranford Christmas

A reporter Dan French said this in a article this year "Cranford will return to BBC One for a two part special this Christmas, it has been announced."
I really liked what i saw of Cranford and i can't wait to see the second part of the story.

Jonathan Swift~~

I thought this very true as i suspect many women find it so in men. It is a simply statement but funny in a way of truth. Jonathan Swift stated this: "Men are happy to be laughed at for their humor but not for their folly."

And that is all to be said i think.

Shakespeare~

Sonnet 19
Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion's paws,
And make the earth devour her own sweet brood;
Pluck the keen teeth from the fierce tiger's jaws,
And burn the long-lived phoenix in her own blood;
Make glad and sorry seasons as thou fleet'st,
And do whate'er thou wilt, swift-footed time,
To the wide world and all her fading sweets;
But i forbid thee one most heinous crime:
O carve not with thy hours my love's fair brow,
Nor draw no lines there with thine antique pen.
Him in thy course untainted do allow
For beauty's pattern to succeeding men.
Yet do thy worst old Time;
despite thy wrong,
My love shall in my verse
ever live young.

PICtures

Here are some pictures of fairy tales. Mostly for Disney. I really liked the one with Peter Pan in the wheel chair, and it says "When a child doesn't read, imagination disappears."
The first is Prince Philip

Canceled

Finally it has come to an end. We all guessed it when Maid Marian died. But after 3 seasons it has come to an all time conclusion. The last episodes aired and season 3 (even though their is no Marian, Will Scarlett, and Djaq) was very good. Their has been some new additions to the band. One who is Kate, at first i didn't like her but after a while she is a good addition. I like her, though to my relief she is not a replacement to Marian.

Guy of Gisborne- Season 1 he showed a kindness, season 2 a little less but still dieing for Marian and Season 3 all rotten (Rotten Rotten Rotten).

Maid Marian- After Marian left we soon had another female role mixed into the show....
....

.... Isabella-

Sadly i think Robin is getting over Marian fast..

Loved the show, but at least we will still have reruns~
