Ruby in the Smoke and The Sally Lockhart Mysteries

I have only heard of the book series, that is written by Philip Pullman, and the movie versions, and they are of interest to me.

The plot is about a 16 year old girl named Sally Lockhart (Billie piper). She is an orphan and is soon tangled into a mystery by getting letters of warning. She is befriended by a photographer and his sister who provide her with a home and employment, But it seems that her and her friends are in danger.
The second movie/book is a continuing story.
In the movie version;
With Billie piper who plays Sally Lockhart,
Julie Walters who plays Mrs. Holland,
JJ Feild who plays Frederick Garland,
Matt Smith who plays Jim Taylor,
and Hayley Atwell who plays Rosa Garland.

Saw it!

I got to see all of Lost in Austen. It was soooo funny.

With the mix of modern and old England it was so classic. I thought the whole story line went flip side but it was very good. Amanda Price does try to piece her beloved story back together and she is a wonderful and funny person. Elizabeth is altered and is not much in the movie, but you are in for a great surprise if you get to see it. The whole twist of Mr. Bingley, Jane and Mr. Collins is hilarious. Poor Bingley. Mr. Collins was a surprise, and the dialogue between Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet is amusing. All in all it was funny. The few points that i found that made me laugh hysterically was the chalk in which she is to use it as tooth paste, The coping of the wet T.Shirt, the way she shaves her legs, and the huge surprise that Miss. Bingley lays on you.

YOu have to see it.

Who played it better???

Colonel Brandon, 1995 version or 2008 version

Edward, 1995 version or 2008 version

Willoughby, 1995 version or 2008 version

Mrs Dashwood, 1995 version or 2008 version

Elinor Dashwood, 1995 version or 2008 version

Marianne Dashwood, 1995 version or 2008 version.

I think in a few ways each characters picture resembles one another. But who played it better?
For me in the old version a few couple characters annoyed me from out of these choices, but for the most part they both did a good job. But there has to be a better performance.

Lost in Austen

I haven't seen this show before but i have read blogs on this and i just wanted to blog about my interest. It is a four part 2008 British television series and it is based loosely on Pride and Prejudice. It is about Amanda Price a Jane Austen Fan from the modern world, she finds herself locked into the new world of Pride and Prejudice and nothing goes as it should. As she is trying to piece back the story she tries to find her way back home.
With;
Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price
Alex Kingston as Mrs Bennet
Hugh Bonneville as Mr Bennet
Elliot Cowan as Darcy
Morven Christie as Jane
Tom Riley as Wickham
Pedita Weeks as Lydia
Gemma Arterton as Elizabeth
Florence Hoath as Kitty
Ruby Bentall as Mary
and Tom Mison as Mr. Bingley

The Duchess

2009
Winning Best period costume, i personally liked the historical portray of the story and i got to admit that the costumes were brilliant. They were big and elegant and great.

Jane Austen Handheld (2010)

This new film "Jane Austen Handheld" will be made over and retold in a comical way. It is Pride and Prejudice in the lens of a fly-on-the-wall. The cast is only so far of Singer Lily Allen as Lydia Bennet and Stephen Fry as Mr. Bennet. All to be expected is sarcastic remarks, interpretation in a hilarious but astonishing way, and interesting characters made out to be exaggerated parts. I am waiting to see it and look forward to it, and i don't think i will be offended, because what harm can it do but advertising the book even more.
( Although a bad review can be harmful)
All i hope is that it is good and funny. I really hope it is. And that no one will be offended like when Becoming Jane came out, fore it was made well.
