What happened?

Well it is now official that Keira Knightley will not be playing Eliza Doolittle in the possible re-make of My fair lady. That is a big change i must say. But the now possible leads for the role that are rumored are American actresses Scarlett Johansson, and and Anne Hathaway, but it is said that "the film-makers are insistent that the role goes to a British actress." Carey Mulligan (from Pride and Prejudice) was rumored to be asked to meet the director John Madden about the role, and from the article the "Other contenders in the category are: Twilight's Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg from Zombieland, former Skins star Nicholas Hoult (very good opposite Colin Firth in A Single Man) and Tahar Rahim, who is brilliant in the sublime prison drama A Prophet."
